CANINE FITNESS & CONDITIONING
Physical fitness is just as important for dogs as it is for people. Improving a dog's fitness and health can increase their lifespan and limit vet visits as they get older. It reduces their risk of sport-related injury, joint problems, and arthritis. Dogs who are conditioned healthy tend to live happier and more playful times!
I'm a certified Canine Conditioning Fitness Coach (CCFC) one of the only ones in the whole of New Zealand.
Canine Conditioning Fitness is practiced in pursuit of peak performance, injury prevention, coordination, flexibility, and rehabilitation. Earn your Canine Conditioning Fitness title and performance medals by
demonstrating mastery of skills in the five fitness components:
1) Flexibility
2) Balance
3) Stamina
4) Coordination
5) Strength
"Exercise benefits a dog at every life stage. Puppies can improve their coordination, confidence, and mental focus while senior dogs can work on their strength and balance"
If you would like to earn official fitness dog titles here is the list of the
4 levels along with exercises.
If you can already do all the exercises with your dog, I'll happily free of charge witness them for you. Just film your dog doing the exercises!
